A Terran subspecies who were the creators of the Draughtgen and the parents of the first generation of such. They have never been given a scientific taxonomy, owing to their existence in a single generation. Genetically engineered from birth to be exceptional infantry soldiers during the last few decades of the Two Century war, by the former United States of America as a last-ditch effort. The Gen Ones did not preserve the nation that created them, though they did win the war. They founded a new nation, the Genetic States of America, which would eventually become the United Empire of Earth. None of them survive, as their second generation would become known as the Draughtgen.
All Gen Ones were capable of inducing in themselves a state known as Combat Disassociation, in which their bodies released an epinephrine-like chemical that functionally increased the density of muscles and nerve tissue, making them temporarily faster and stronger at the cost of significant wear and tear on their bodies. The psychological effects of this state were often described as similar to being removed from one’s body and circumstances, observing one’s own actions and events with a detached and uncaring sentiment.
