Warp Buoy

A small, 0.2 to 1 meter long unmanned warp-capable spacecraft consisting entirely of a powerful warp drive, a computer, a transceiver, multiple redundant memory drives and an array of extremely high capacity batteries and capacitors. They are loaded with communications data, launched from warp relay stations at relativistic velocities with their batteries and capacitors at full charge, and immediately engage their warp coils at the highest output possible. Because of their lack of crew, small size and powerful warp drives, they are capable of traveling at much higher non-local speeds than other ships, translating many hundreds of light years in a fraction of a second.
