Operational Detachment Echo, 4th Special Operations Group

The most highly secretive and elite unit in the IDF’s Special Operations Command. Its stated specialty is the same as OD-D, but its core mission is to provide Operators capable of performing missions at the same or greater level of skill in any doctrinal mission type as any specialized SOG, or indeed, any unit of the IDF. Its existence is kept a tight secret.

Operators in the unit are officially considered part of a Logistical Analysis Corps -the 301st- and are required to maintain the secrecy of their real assignment under pain of capital punishment. Operators are tasked with performing missions which are deemed too dangerous for other special operations units or missions which are determined to be too sensitive in nature to be completed by acknowledged IDF units, but are also used to fill gaps when other special operations units are unavailable for critical tasking. Operators are given broad leeway in the manner in which they complete their missions as well as other facets of military life, and within the 4th, disregard for military norms and regulations is commonplace, provided it does not interfere with the completion of their duties.

Among the few who are aware of the existence of OD-E, its Operators are considered to be the most dangerous and capable warfighters in the galaxy, and their strategic use has drawn frequent comparisons to the use of weapons of mass destruction, as the failure of missions assigned to them is almost entirely unheard of.

Detachment Echo is staffed exclusively by Operators from the 4th SOG.
