A sapient member of any species which originated on Earth or is descended from such. There are numerous so-called ‘subspecies’ of humanity, some of which are not capable of breeding with others, and are thus technically considered new species. Nonetheless, they are almost always referred to as subspecies, a result of their shared heritage.
